Long-case clock by Thomas Ross, Hull, c.1795. The broad pagoda style hood is particular to the Hull, UK area clock makers of the time. Thomas Ross was watch maker at Scale-Lane, Hull from 1791-1806 by which time it became Thomas Ross and Cook. He died in 1812 and is buried at Holy Trinity Church, Hull.

  • There is boxwood stringing in the hood and patterned stringing to the panel in the base.

  • The fluted pillars to the hood and quarter pillars to the trunk have brass reeding a third of the way up, they are surmounted by Corinthian capitals.

  • The broad pagoda has a replacement silk backed fret work.

  • The case stands on four bracket feet.
